What We Believe
We
would classify ourselves as “moderate” in our application of church theology.
- We
believe the Bible is the inspired, written word of God.
- We
rejoice in the freeing grace that God has given us through the life, death and
resurrection of Jesus.
- Our
understanding of Jesus’ message leads us to “love the sinner, but hate the
sin.”
- In
our daily relations with mankind, neighbors, family and self, we are guided by the Holy
Spirit and the Holy Scriptures.
- Although
God is big enough to meet people’s needs and relate to them in many ways, we must not
dilute or compromise His message by trying to be so inclusive or worrying about offending
people’s convictions that God’s true message gets lost.
- By
our actions, we are more comfortable with sincere, needs-based evangelism and one-on-one
work with those we can help, than on the more charismatic view of evangelism.
- We
strive to provide a supportive fellowship, both within the existing congregation and with
those who would like to share in our community of faith.
