Christian Nurture

At First Presbyterian Church our mission is for every child, young person and adult to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord, Savior and Friend in a nurturing and joyful environment. We believe that everyone is a child of God and we seek to live out the commitment we make at baptism to teach everyone about the Good News of Jesus Christ, to encourage their Christian faith and service and to strengthen their ties to Christ’s church.

Youth

• Youth Fellowship group meets throughout the year for fun activities together.

• Confirmation class is held in the spring for youth in the eighth grade and above.

  The class meets after worship on Sundays for 8-10 weeks. The class includes retreats and other special events

• LOGOS for Youth is on Wednesdays. They participate in all four parts of our program: Recreation, Worship Skills, Bible, and Family Time (dinner).
         
            Youth: 4:45 - 7:45 pm
            K-5th grade: 4:00 - 7:00
            Preschool: 4:45 - 6:15

We have placed the handbook for the LOGOS program on line for you to review and use. The registration for LOGOS is available here.

• LOGOS Conference, Estes Park, CO for those graduating 8^th-12^th grades
  
• Camp Sawtooth in the summer.

Camp Sawtooth is a ministry of the Kendall and Boise Presbytery's of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Nestled at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountains, Camp Sawtooth has been in operation for over 50 years.

The Triennium..."The Presbyterian Youth Triennium is an event that is held every three years in North Lafeyette, Indiana at Purdue University. It is a gathering of Presbyterian Youth from all over the United States and from several countries world wide. There are anywhere from 3500-4500 students that attend the event. It is a week of learning about God and worshipping with youth from the ages of 14-19. I attended it last summer and I will definitly say that it was an amazing experience. - Cami, 2008 attendee"

The lastest information on the Presbyterian Youth Triennium can be found on the web site. BUT you might find that the information is either dated from 2007 or the information is about 2010. The event is only held every three years...but worth the wait.
