Christian Nurture

At First Presbyterian Church our mission is for every child, young person and adult to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord, Savior and Friend in a nurturing and joyful environment. We believe that everyone is a child of God and we seek to live out the commitment we make at baptism to teach everyone about the Good News of Jesus Christ, to encourage their Christian faith and service and to strengthen their ties to Christ’s church.

Children

• Nursery care is available for Infants through 3 yrs.  From 8:30-11:30 Sunday mornings by 2 loving and skilled Christian caregivers.

• Sunday School – Preschool through 5^th Grade is available after the Time for Children during the worship service (10:20-11:00). We use the "Feasting on the Word" curriculum which is lectionary based (follows what the pastor is preaching on that Sunday)and helps children learn the Bible stories by not only hearing them, but exploring and responding to them in creative ways.

• On the first Sunday of the month there is no Sunday school for our K-5^th grades so that they may remain in worship with their families and participate in the sacrament of Communion together.

• Preschool LOGOS – For ages 4 & 5 is on Wednesdays from 4:45 - 6:15 p.m. These young disciples are invited to join us for worship skills and Bible class. Contact our LOGOS Director with questions or for more information.

 

LOGOS for K-5th gades and Youth is on Wednesdays. They participate in all four parts of our program: Recreation, Worship Skills, Bible, and Family Time (dinner).

          Preschool: 4:45 - 6:15
          K-5th grade: 4:00 - 7:00
          Youth: 4:45 - 7:45 pm

• Camp Sawtooth in the summer.

Camp Sawtooth is a ministry of the Kendall and Boise Presbytery's of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Nestled at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountains, Camp Sawtooth has been in operation for over 50 years.
